PRESS RELEASE: April 30, 2021
Continuous learning, an evolving benchmark, and a matchmaking ecosystem around one common language
SMART BUILDING CERTIFICATION IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE LAUNCH:
VERSION 3.0
“Malcolm Gladwell said you have to have 10000 hours in a subject to be an expert,” but not only hours, well directed attention with the right focus. By bringing experts from academia, tech, real estate, investment, and practical applications together, Smart Building Certification is excited to have achieved another major milestone with the launch of Smart Building Certification Version 3.0. This version release brings a new level of depth, understanding, analysis, and transformational competence to the SBC benchmark whilst also delivering a robust foundational framework that allows a continuous evolving benchmark moving forward. As the smart industry matures, the certification will reflect this with the smartest buildings paving the way for the rest to learn and grow from.
What does this mean in practice:
The certification has a clear benchmark system, allowing for buildings in the ecosystem to learn more easily from other building cases.
The certification now has drill down functionality to allow focus on granular level as well as integration on top level. Each element is scored and benchmarked independently and aggregated towards a total score. This allows us to drill down and identify various stakeholder needs, opportunities, best practices, and requirements (building usage, building performance, building environment, safety & security, and user experience & collaboration)
With version 3.0 comes our long awaited smart solution certification. This certification allows for technical solutions (tech companies) to certify against the methodology, supporting easy matchmaking, collaboration, innovation, and integrative design.
We are on the precipice of massive transformation in the real estate sector, and in our opinion, very needed changes that should be accelerated.
Improve sustainability in real estate (ESG)
Continue the heightened focus on health and human performance
Lean in to new business models and different use cases
Asees asset valuation differently
