Hausmanns Hus by
The first PLATINUM Smart Building Certification in Norway has been awarded to Hathon, for their Hausmanns Hus property. The Norwegian property developer is the first in Norway to achieve such high accreditation and has the ambition and clear experience to be a part of the market leadership in the smart building industry. Hathon’s approach to smart buildings is incredibly unique and what some may call refreshing; putting smart at the beginning of their project they have built an approach which could revolutionise how we build and comission smart buildings in the future. The team at Hathon has also built some of their integrations and solutions themselves, to ensure it delivers exactly on the promise they are after. This mad scientist approach to smart is one we’re seeing more and more and allows more flexibility for some aspects but also gives an intense visibility of the technological infrastructure.
“The Hathon project is absolutely incredible, completely future focused with a true understanding of the value of smart. Their focus and way of building has given them the ability to stay flexible for their customers, sustainable for the environment, and data focused for a heightened ability to manage their assets and better holistic results. We very much look forward to the next phase of this project where we will share the incredible best practices and continue working together for a smarter future.” - Nicholas White, Head of Operations and Strategy at Smart Building Certification
Hausmanns Hus is set to be delivered in 2022 and is not only incredibly smart but also offers a premium experience for its user and tenants. Experiencing smart is becoming the new trend. Taking the tech from the back office to the user, sharing data, and improving the experience. Hathon has landed a fabulous location in the center of Oslo and has chosen a fit out design that is optimally flexible with smart functionality to continuously measure, manage, and improve as they go. This strategy looks to be one for success and one developers should adopt moving forward.
Some of the partners making it happen
The requirements for the certificate are classified in 6 categories
1) building usage 2) building performance 3) health safety and security 4) building environment 5) user experience and collaboration 6) connectivity and integrative design. Hathon strives to score as high as possible for each category, but also with heightened focus on the benchmark and what can be learned from others following a similar journey. These themes set a framework for continuous exploration and discussion.
"Our strategy is to build not only for the first tenant and their needs at this moment, but also for their evolving needs as they change over time. Therefore we invest in solutions that make the building easy to adapt in every way. This includes every aspect of the building from floorplans to data and device management, handling and sharing. We are excited to team up with SBC to put our plans to the test and see if it sticks and discover where we can further improve. We are looking forward to the next step in our journey and happy to be part of the SBC-network and share their philosophy of continuous improvement." - Martin Sofus Almerud, Technical Manager Sustainability | Optimizing | Development Hathon
The Smart Building Certification, which has been developed to promote wellbeing, sustainability, performance, innovation, and health and safety in the built environment, recognizes buildings that have smart tech infrastructure in place to evaluate a building’s behavior and performance. The first building awarded Platinum Smart Building Certification was EDGE Olympic Amsterdam.
